Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using a11yVault ("the Service"), operated by a11yVault ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification.

Accounts & Authentication

To use a11yVault beyond the free scan, you must sign in with a Google or Microsoft account and create an organization. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your authentication account, all activity that occurs under your account, providing accurate organization and contact information, and notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or are used for unauthorized purposes.

Acceptable Use

a11yVault is intended for lawful accessibility auditing of websites you own or have authorization to scan. You agree not to:

  • Scan websites without authorization from the site owner
  • Use the Service to attack, disrupt, or overload third-party websites
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, scan quotas, or subscription restrictions
  • Use the Service to extract, scrape, or harvest data from websites for purposes unrelated to accessibility auditing
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service
  • Share account credentials or allow unauthorized individuals to access your account
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations

Billing & Subscriptions

Subscription Plans

a11yVault offers tiered subscription plans with different page scan limits and feature access. New accounts may receive a free trial period. Plan details and pricing are displayed on the Pricing page within the application.

Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis according to your selected plan.

Cancellation & Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Settings page. Upon cancellation, your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days for review.

Past-Due Accounts

If a payment fails, your account will enter a past-due state. You will retain read-only access to existing audit data but will be unable to run new scans until payment is resolved.

Intellectual Property

The a11yVault service, including its design, code, AI models, scanning methodology, and documentation, is the intellectual property of a11yVault. You retain ownership of your audit data, scan results, and exported reports.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose during your active subscription.

Data Handling

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. Key points:

  • Scan data is automatically deleted based on your plan (30 days for free scans, 1 year for Starter, 2 years for Team and Agency, unlimited for Enterprise)
  • PII found on scanned pages is automatically scrubbed before storage
  • We share data only with essential service providers (Google/Microsoft for auth, Stripe for billing, a third-party model provider for enhanced analysis, Resend for email delivery)
  • We do not sell your data or use third-party analytics/advertising services

Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Service Provided "As Is": a11yVault is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of scan results or AI-generated suggestions.

Not Legal Advice: a11yVault is a technical auditing tool. Scan results and VPAT reports are informational and do not constitute legal advice or guarantee compliance with any law, regulation, or standard including the ADA, Section 508, or EN 301 549.

Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, a11yVault shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Third-Party Websites: a11yVault scans websites at your direction. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of third-party websites you choose to scan.

Termination & Governing Law

Termination: We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may export your data before termination using the available export features.

Governing Law: These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Delaware.
